日本知名繪本作家吉竹伸介在正式成為插畫家前，就只是一個偷偷趁空檔在紙上塗鴉的上班族，後來終於被出版社發掘，於2002年開了一次素描特展，從此以插畫家出道。
本書為當年插畫特展展覽手冊，應讀者要求於2016年復刻出版，目前已經十二刷。
本書的簡單而細膩的早期插畫，完全顯露吉竹伸介藏在日常生活中的特殊視角與幽默感。內容雖然都是取自日常，但依據奇妙的台詞就把讀者拉入另外一個天馬行空的世界。

1973年出生於日本神奈川縣。插畫家。
擅長以手繪塗鴉擷掫日常生活中妙不可言的場景，備受矚目。作品涵蓋素描集、童書插畫、裝飾畫及廣告藝術等多方面。
著有《今天就先醬》、《令人興奮的狹小空間》等書。
