Sherlock Holmes and Gorilla had successfully captured the notorious swindler Mack several years ago.  However, with only one more year left in his sentence, Mack escaped from prison on a cold, blizzard night! Did he have an unspeakable reason for the hasty escape? Thickening the mystery,  only several bundles of rags and a piece of flatbread were found near the prison's surrounding wall.  With neither a tall ladder nor long ropes, how did Mack climb over the 20-foot wall? How were the rag bundles and flatbread related to his escape? Not only did Holmes crack every puzzle, he also ventured on a snow mountain pursuit along with Gorilla and the rest of the group. And Mack's whereabouts  was finally pinpointed at a most unexpected location!  This story was originally published as a serial in "Children Learning Monthly Magazine".
